Well when these things happen, ppl do go overboard. But this is not an isolated incident. This is not like the downing of KAL 007 which was an accident. I am not sure where you are getting the figure of 50 dead, it is, currently, at 9 [1]. However, Israel has refused to release, or even give the location of, the injured. Seeing as how the IDF beat Kenneth Nichols O'Keefe half to death [2], this is extremely disturbing. Nevertheless, the casualty could be higher than 9.
With respect to the activists having guns, even if we overlook the futility and the suicide aspect of activists getting into armed conflict with trained commandos and an entire naval fleet, then one still has to explain the fact that all the activists went through metal detectors, and thus could not have smuggled weapons aboard.

That's a perfect point. If the IDF so much as found a fart on the flotilla they would of displayed as a terrorist link. They did try to fabricate the anti-semitism card, but they were caught trying to fabricate an audio clip where the activists tell them to "go back to Auschwitz"
