you can get nikopol from steam and memento mori from adventure shop if your planning to get both, then first play nikopol and then mori. imo both are worth it.

I noticed Nikopol gets half decent reviews, Memento Mori has been received pretty poorly, based on gamerankings (which clearly sucks for not including this site but gives an indication nonetheless).
Penumbra gets a bit higher ratings, still haven't found a copy however.

Yeah, that's the one, all 3 Penumbra games for just $ 5 seems an absolute steal.

No I never use demos. I buy so many used games that I will get a copy in the end anyway and will then try the full game.
well it helped me make my mind the get the game. the demo level and the on in the full version are a bit different. the puzzles in this games are totally unique and fresh.

Still life was great in my opinion. Even with the cookie bakeing scene. At least we're not on the case 24/7 wich makes the whole game more believable. And both storylines were great.
I also recommend SYBERIA. the first episode starts kinda boring, but when given enough time, it takes the player to some really memorable scenes. And the best thing about it, that the second episode (Syberia 2) continues your journey from the very moment the first one ended. The first Syberia ends with you entering a door, and the second one starts with that door closed behind you. And that next episode is even better than the first one.
with great scenes, music.. and also I am very fond of Kate Walker's voice..
Now I've got Sinking Island.. it's plot seems interesting, maybe I should give it a try. I also recommend FAHRENHEIT. Good adventure with nice story, plenty of action and multiple choices (not that much as in Blade Runner wich I played 3 times and the game never was the same, and never ended the same!), you just have to follow what your own mind tells you to, there is no pixelhunting here..

I gave up part 2 halfway (IIRC because I was annoyed by the puzzles), which I don't do too often (I tend to finish games, I finished part 1 also).

It was different allright and I overall I liked it too, but the button pressing sequences during cut scenes was pretty annoying IMHO. You had to concentrate on pressing the right buttons at the right time so you couldn't follow what was actually happening.

i remember when i finished both games it was a bit like what enlightment would be. i was in good mood without any cause. i felt a stable calmness. like no matter what happens during my day, there's no way anything could ruin this. of course it passed the other day just like most things.
some memories of the syberia games are fading now, but i still remember when you were to help an ageing but proud opera singer escape from her no.1 fan in a forgotten russian space station. that part was one of my favourite.
