Anyone played World in Conflict? I have a copy, but I want to determine whether I should sell it (now it still has some second hand value) or keep it until I have a new PC.
WIC is considered to be very good by RTS gamers, however I am no RTS-gamer. Generally I am willing to give RTS-games a shot only if they are 'different'. I quite liked Sacrifice, for example, but did not care much for Freedom Force and Soldiers: Heroes of WWII.
Any thoughts? Is is so different from ordinary RTS games and of such high quality that I should keep it?

It's very similar to most RTS games. The only real difference being that you can't build structures. You just buy units from points you make by killing the enemy. Your units are brought by a plane and dropped on the battlefield.
If you do not like RTS then i guess you should sell it. Sacrifice and Freedom Force were truly different, this is not.
This game is very admired because it's very "fast paced" Now i know you hear that term often and it's bullshit but it's true this time. There are a billion ways for a unit to die if it stands still.
You have really cool powers to rain death on your enemies and kick ass graphics but in the end it's just a fast RTS game without buildings. Just like Ground Control 2(same developer) or Dawn of War 2.
Edit: Oh yeah, a piece of shit expansion came out that just gives you 6 new missions with soviets but it also gives you the original game or something. I'm not sure but i think you'll have a harder time trying to sell the original.

Oh yeah, i remembered something else that's different.
In multiplayer you choose between 4 classes. One has helicopters, another has tanks, another artillery and...there is one with infantry, the most boring.
You can only build those things so it might annoy you or you might enjoy that restriction.
So that's...different game mode than the classic "all units available for all" i guess. But still not different gameply wise.
