So I just tried to play Skirmish in C&C Generals and I found it to be really annoying. Here is a random list of things that generally bothered me
1)The computer is far better at prioritizing hits than I am. The computer knows which car has units inside, and goes for that one immediately.
2)I think the computer has more funds than I do, b/c right at the beginning it rushes my base with twice as many tanks as I can afford.
3)The computer knows exactly where to strike upon first entering my base.
But most importantly, I like attrition. I want the computer to get mowed down by my defneses. In Generals, if you barricade several buildings, the computer ignores that area completely. I realize this is smart adaptive behaviour, but I'd like to see the computer suffer a little more.

Install the Zero Hour expansion. From what i can tell you wanna be able to turtle. Just select the Laser general or the Super Weapon one.
Laser general has some fucking killer laser defence towers that rape anything they see.
Super weapons general has EMP patriots defence shit that disables ANY vehicle. Use them with some snipers and again, nobody will break that defence.
Except the piece of shit general abilities that you can't turn off. Fucking cock sucking EA making westwood make their games shittier. In red alert 2 you could turn off super weapons and shit but not here, NOOO it's so much fun being stressed out because you need to keep all your units moving all the time.

I'll check it out.
Ya I too like to be able to disable super weapons. I don't like it when the AI has nukes, coupled with my previous argument about how the computer has more funds than I do, it's just completely unfair.
I also don't know if my actions have any consequence on the computer, for example, if you destroy the baracks, the computer seemingly continues producing at maximum capacity.
The worst was back in the old RTS days, the AI would produce tanks twice as fast as u!

I'd play with a friend in hamachi against computers and they never seemed to cheat.
The only annoying thing is that if you disable superweapon limit they'll build too fast and too many. Oh and the problem with ANY rts where you have fog of war restricted abillities. The computer always knows where to use them.
But either way, plain generals was BORING AS FUCK, you need Zero Hours expansion really bad. It has 3 specialized generals per faction. Which either modifies things or adds other units.
So you have a GLA general that can cloak ALL his buildings. Laser general that has powerfull tanks but that consume power just like buildings.
And there is a singleplay challenge mode where you select a general and fight against all the others one by one. Each general has a map built to suit his needs. Like the Air force general having a base really far away from you.

I find the skirmish mode on Generals is good if u want to play for 45 mins, but I never play against the hard enemy simply b/c they start using nukes, and I'm more of a turtler (as u put it)

Well fuck you already, get Zero Hour. If you think it's good now, you'll love the expansion.
