I'd advise against Eurogamer. While they are a step above gayspot, have some funny reviews and feel like they are written by a person, not a robot...they are too console orientated. PC reviews are too rare for my liking.

http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/ It's pretty decent and they are PC ONLY.
It seem pretty funny but if there are any reviews there, I cannot seem to find them. And reviews is what my question was about.

Let me continue the amusement then...i know there are, i've seen them. But....i sure as fuck can't find the link to them. They have a stupid layout.
I guess it wasn't a very good site. I mostly wanted to say something about eurogamer.

A few years ago http://www.avault.com had pretty good reviews, but then the site went belly up, it revived as an insignificant crap site and all old reviews seem no longer available, way to go!
I also liked http://www.sharkygames.com, but these stopped (in 2001, man I am getting old), but the reviews are still there.

Until I found this site, I thought I was the only living man who had noticed the consolization and stupidification of gaming industry.
I hopelessly searched Internet about a series of games that were fucking atrocious to me in past times (the expansion to Empire Earth, another called Empires: Dawn of the Modern World, and many others) but I haven't found shit, until I searched "Scarface worst port ever" and finally got to this place, where I immediately suscribed almost every single fucking word I was reading.
I don't need other reviewing site because I hate previews (hype and shit that never becomes true) so I wait until launching date and then I only see the screenshots from Gamespot to figure out if the game is worth or not (through years and years of gaming, I've got the ability to rate a game from a few pictures).

That's me right there.
Despite the shitty 1900 website layout, it's a kickass site that deserves more attention (including some attention from the fucking admins). Seems like everyone else is on microsoft or sony's consolized cock.

The next game I'd be prepared to buy at launch is Wolfenstein......there's also Operation Flashpoint, but other than that, there's nothing on the horizon.

What exactly would you want the admins to do in addition to what they are doing now?

Ya I too felt at peace when I found out there were other people in the world who hated console games
I felt like that guy in the Viagra commercial: I wanted to start dancing in the street.

Doesn't anyone here read usenet (newsgroups as it is often called), more in particular comp.sys.ibm.pc.games.action and comp.sys.ibm.pc.games.rpg? You will find more likeminded gamers there than here.
If you want to you can use http://groups.google.com/. Do not use Outlook , at least not for posting anything.

Berzerker, what are you still doing here? Go join Mensa or take over the world, you are clearly more well informed than everyone on this site combined

I don't like newsgroups nor mailing lists, they should be replaced with more advanced formats like the forums.
Imageboards to me are obsolete too, but at least their main target isn't reading but looking at pictures. If they belong to the Xchan spectrum they should be forgiven too because that's part of their soul.

What's so much more advanced with forums?
- there are moderators on forums because the website owner could be held responsible for the contents of the forum. Some improvement.
- it is more graphically advanced, HTML in stead of plain text. So you can force HUGE TEXT upon the readers, this is obviously a blessing for humanity.
- it is a bit easier to use. Even more morons posting completely irrelevant oneliners, great!
Basically the advantages of forums over usenet are comparable to the advantages of console gaming over PC gaming, go figure.
