As you know the bidder insisted on anonimity, so cash was the only option. Besides, the terms of the auction stated explicitly that "only bids in euro, US dollar, Pound Sterling, gold, silver or platinum will be accepted", and these terms have been strictly adhered to.

Maybe we simply misread. The latest member reported in the wellcome screen is still "mihai_alex", but that's only because the frame is too small to show the complete name, which is mihai_alexandruT3 (you can see this by clicking on this "mihai_alex").
So it was a false alarm I guess.
