Well if he would keep giving me his "junk" for free then I would be called a hardware pirate. Or maybe just a lucky asshole who doesn't want to spend money.

This game is running awful especially in maps like Red Forest... it's running with 1 framerate/3 seconds... A better processor and some RAM should do the trick for this game... but my PC is actually very close to the recommended specs... it's running horribly nevertheless even on low settings... I only bought this PC 2 years ago and it was very good back then. Life expectancy for a PC is getting lower and lower...
Edit: It seems like the game is over for me... every time I go to the Red Forest to chase Strelok the FPS goes to a minimum and the game gets ultra slow motion... after a 1 maybe 2 frustrating minutes the game crashes with no error to report... Well it was nice playing Stalker. They should have done it free of bugs and the gameplay could have been significantly better... maybe they should have added dialogues like the ones from Gothic I and II. Make they should have made it more like a RPG ... with individual characters that really look like individuals, not just soldiers that do the same thing and occasionally ask you to do the same "quests" or whatever they are called in this game... it would have been interesting that way.
And most of all it should have been more optimized for low end PCs, like mine, I'm asking this because my PC fits the minimum and even the recommended specs in some areas, yet the game runs horribly and as seen in my Red Forest example it is actually unplayable.
Anyway, this game is good compared to other games, it's worth playing but I don't know if it's worth buying, though...

I actually installed Stalker : SOC again and it's running equally awful, although I fit the recommended settings. G-A-Y L-O-R-D!

And what school was that exactly? Being the of the elementary school of retards in Kabul would be a bit less impressive than being the of renowned quantum electrodynamics department of the University of Bucharest.

OK, so you know how to use google but there does not seem to be much more, so it's a one trick pony: this hints to the Kabul elementary school rather than the Bucharest university.
And these Afghan sayings are really old indeed: everyone who played Crysis knows that "A tree doesn’t move unless there is wind" is simply incorrect (solely for in case the suspicion about the Kabul elementary school is correct: trees also move because of lumberjacks or sheer fire power).

But but but in Crysis you do not eat, shit, drink or piss, how does this fit in the Afghan way? Do Afghans not play Crysis and if not how come they do not all kill themselves?

let me put it this way for you....
if an afghan is sent to the moon, on the moon there would be a crysis
if an afghan is sent to Jupiter, on Jupiter there would be a crysis
if an afghan is sent to Pluto, on Pluto there would be a crysis

oh noooo, I'm overwhelmed by Stalker, but I'll figure it out within 18months.
I'm really quite scared by these realistic combat shooters......but not to worry, I have my Teddy Bear near by.

Sadly the first Stalker ended up unplayable too... it keeps restarting my PC randomly... haven't reinstalled Windows in a few years as I was free of viruses but it seems like there are some system errors, or maybe just another Stalker bug.

It wasn't Stalker... it was my PC. And now it doesn't work anymore. I start the PC but nothing shows up on the monitor, only 'power save up mode'. Is there a 1/100000000000 chace that anyone might know something about this?

Usually, when my PC won't turn on, I just buy another one, and I'm glad to be rid of it........I generally get a bit over 3yrs out of them.
