VideoGamesSuck.com :: View topic - Anyone here an audio INTELLECTUAL?
I'm mainly concerned with the purchase of in ear headphones{non BTooth}....I'm just using the base model that came with my samsungs, but then I discovered the world of hi res audio aka FLAC.
LG have done a great job with their V20{which I might end up getting}, but you've got the new LG G6 that's supposed to be a bit better for audio output than the V20, and there's also the new S8 samsung's.
What i don't know is how much to spend, for example, I strongly suspect that the Sennheiser Momentum in ears would be okay{$100AUD}, but there's also Logitech's UE900 for about 3x that.
I get the feeling that if I ran a FLAC thru a V20/G6 that the Sennheisers would make me happy, but I can't be sure....of course there's also other in ears between $100 and $230aud.

For my gaming room i got the C6 because it is the cheaper one and comes with 3d as well. It was a good call since the curve is no bigdeal. saved some not getting the e6.
so i hook it up with the marantz nr1607 receiver when i want to watch movies which powers the SVS sub + Emotiva speaker in 2.1. This is sending audio via the HDMI out of GTX 1080.
When i want to listen on my sennheiser HD650 ( for late night ) i use the headphone out of the PowerColor DEVIL HDX 7.1. This great card can drive 600ohms headphone no problem. Not a big fan of inears, was planning to get IE800 or the shures for traveling..later.
Try to get the HD600 or HD650 (300ohms) they are godsend esp the HD650 because it can handle nasty sibilants and has a dark/smooth signature with great bass yeah! You can pick them used from amazon or signup for group deals at massdrop.

For the moment I'm mainly concerned with getting a reasonable set of in ears for smartphone use only.
It's quiet possible that the phone i get will bundle a decent set, so i can't really buy until I've bought the phone......but what i was wondering is if there's anyway to tell from the specs whether the Logitech 900 would trounce a 100 or $200 set.
I don't know whether the shops will allow the auditioning of in ear sets....
Tyll performs extensive measurements and also from time time invites audio enthusiasts to perform testing. You get some good information here.

I'm half tempted to get the new Motorola g5plus and a onkyo dp x1 standalone audio player.
