Only reason we talk shit about Skyrim is because you hold it up as if it's some manner of mantle-piece trophy. A symbol of 'how great gaming today is!'
I should further point out a few things, I accept much of the criticism leveled at Skyrim, but it doesn't change the fact that "I" still like it+ as I mentioned, Skyrim from a technical and a bethesda RPG framework is better than FO3/NV.
As for how great gaming is, that's not my view at all other than in a few area's and without question with PC racing simulators, but for example, I don't own any consoles, don't buy COD/BF2/3/4 etc, did receive Crysis3 and Bioschock with my 7950 purchase and think both suck/are overated.....actually, I've basically stopped buying games other than a handful of titles and never at full price.
In a nutshell, don't confuse my regard for Skyrim as translating across the entire gaming scene as most games are garbage these days.

First up, it's just your view that GFX aren't worth a damn, secondly, how many times do I have to tell u I tolerate all sorts of ass end of the world GFX in some racing sims as the gameplay is all that matters, same with tactical shooters, I don't give a damn about the story, the object of the game is precise and semi-realistic shooting.
The fact is you're attacking me as a representative of casual gaming, yet I barely even buy any games of late and have explained numerous times how GFX are secondary to gameplay in some instances......so visit a fucking skrink and pour your heart out to him regarding your digital puzzle solving obsession and watch him laugh in your face.
