I never got into the GTA hype although I tried all of it excluding san andreas.
And I came to a conclusion that they are all shit. They are just super boring.
For me, games where there are no enjoyable gameplay and no character development are pure and utter shit. Or at least give me an iteresting story or setting, but being a gangster in your normal everyday city where you spend 80% of your life anyway walking and driving is super boring.
I would still prefer playing like Silent Hill 2 any day since it has got at least a good setting and story even if the gameplay seems a bit slow.

Unless Rockstar Games drops an absolute bomb on us with GTA V I think many people will be disappointed with the new GTA.
They had some pretty good games but their writing went overboard with attempts to make the story end in the most depressing way possible.

GTA V looks to be alot more light hearted than their past couple games. I don't mind depressing endings, anyway. I'll be preordering it tomorrow. I imagine you guys must be pretty pissed they haven't announced a PC version (yet).

I don't think so, it would be better no PC version than a crappy port as they did with GTA IV.
GTA VC was fun though, SA was cool too, but some controls were horrid, I couldn't finish it. IIRC I gave up on a level where you needed to get a plane on top of another plane at a particular moment, and struggled too much with the controls to get anywhere near the required spot. But this applied to VC too though, particularly the remote helicopter mission was a nuisance, but unlike in SA I managed to overcome it.

Theres some pretty crazy mods for that game. I have never played them but I even saw an Ironman mod that lets you play as uh..Ironman.
