It looks the part.
My 2010 lappy is faster than my old and blown up 2005 desktop, so if I wait another 2 yrs, I'll have a laptop faster than my 2008 PC+SSD...although tbh, I also care about battery life.

Probably SB....4 core/8 threads.
If I had to buy today, thankfully I don't, I'd get

2600/k CPU
8-16gig of ram
1 or 2 6950 2gig's.....but I have to fit a soundcard and TV tuner card in there as well somehow.
SSD C drive+ 4t internal storage HDD.

But I'd like to wait for the new 7xxx series GPU.

what do think should be the realistic price for a pc game?

Do you feel that paying $50-60 is unrealistically high? If yes what is the deserved price for a good game that you like?

Please! Prices used to be way higher for popular console games 15/20 years ago. I remember Street Fighter 2 on both the Mega Drive/Genesis and SNES being more expensive to buy than the actual console (more than $50-60)!

These days prices are pretty fucking sweet and you also have the option of exploring.... alternative ways of acquisition.

Apparently you want to reward them with sub par remuneration. icon_cyclops_ani.gif

LOL, Valve is gonna make gaming much more expensive for you:

The industry has this broken model, which is one price for everyone. That’s actually a bug, and it’s something that we want to solve through our philosophy of how we create entertainment products.

What you really want to do is create the optimal pricing service for each customer and see what’s best for them. We need to give customers, all of them, a robust set of options regarding how they pay for their content.

An example is – and this is something as an industry we should be doing better – is charging customers based on how much fun they are to play with. Some people, when they join a server, a ton of people will run with them. Other people, when they join a server, will cause others to leave. We should have a way of capturing that. We should have a way of rewarding the people who are good for our community.

So, in practice, a really likable person in our community should get Dota 2 for free, because of past behaviour in Team Fortress 2. Now, a real jerk that annoys everyone, they can still play, but a game is full price and they have to pay an extra hundred dollars if they want voice.
