Goddamnit, I got trolled into buying Red Faction and it is insanely fucking horrible; who the fuck is kidding themselves saying this has "good multiplayer" and an "okay singleplay" game?
Singleplayer is a suckass fucking mess of cheapass deaths and faggotry where there is roughly twenty less types of sidemission than neccesary for any non-repetitive gameplay coupled with a complete lack of direction, generic-as-hell missions and a complete lack of varied environments - sure, it's fucking mars, but could the environments you experience be more than just "red sandy dunes", "yellow-grey sandy dunes", "dark brown sandy dunes", "green sandy dunes trying to look like grass", "red sandy dunes now: redux", "blue-grey sandy dunes", and finally "snowy sandy dunes"?
Doing anything destructive larger than knocking over a trash can causes five hundred APCs loaded with EDF assholes to instantly home into your location within eight seconds; said assholes have pretty much the worst AI ever and will simply converge - without using cover or even trying to sidestep - on your position firing perfectly accurate bursts of their disco lasers which block your view and make the game frame out making it impossible to fight back with anything that isn't explosive.
Also apparently Mars gravity is one tenth of the moon's since the revolutionary physics engine allows a building to stand up perfectly when it's got a single loadbearing strut remaining or even a goddamn potted plant is in the way.
Multiplayer is a suckass fucking mess of cheapass deaths and lag where you can get thousands of kills by just randomly spraying your spawn guns all over the place which is helped by the way some gametypes even spawn you with guns which have homing bullets. Also, explosive weapons are rediculously easy to get kills with, most notably the rocket launcher and proximity mines which take no skill whatsoever with to get dozens of kills easily.
Furthermore, given the lack of spawn protection and the way you can't join games in progress, if you manage to end up a stacked team you can just plant the massive blast radius instant kill proximity mines all over the enemies' spawn and then shoot them with the X-ray sniper rifle that can instantly kill through goddamn walls until the match times out or they all quit.
Gay game for fags.
