In this day and age, i have come to the conclusion that emulators simply rock. Their outdated nascent graphics far surpass the fun fact that today's ultra realistic rendered games deliver. There is no doubt that we have lost what fun games used to be and have delved into shallow gay way of gaming experience.
The rom games may have older pixelated graphics but it was rich in other aspects, that added to the suspension of disbelief and portrayed game as an art form.
There are tons of free roms on the net and you can play all the real games from the past. Get your self a controller and you have all the great memories of the past right in front of your shaggtop.
Currently i am playing this bad ass game
using this elegant emulator fusion

well said. back in the day the graphics left more to the mind and competed with fun-factor. i found myself sinking deeper into the games of yesterday than any game that can the present deliver.

Far Cry did kick ass, but things went downhill after that. There have been good games lately (ie. Portal). But I am sick and tired of all the same BS shooters with crap musac and zero story.

NO cunt.....the fact is, some people like the progression towards realism, atmosphere and immersion, whereas cunts like u and puk don't mind "Spaceinvader" GFX as long as "you" deem the storyline or theme of the game as interesting....however, I actually prefer both, ie, I want the entire game to be professional, but given the move to causal gaming and the prohibitive cost of DX11 quality PC exclusives, it seems that PC will stagnate for some time.

Listen carefully cunt.....yes, many games do suck now, and are just pretty turds without substance, there's no argument there, but I've gone back and played HL1, D3, HL2 Max Payne 1/2 all maxed on my 26in LCD, and it occurred to me that there technological merits had been well and truly surpassed, and given that they now look old and dated, it's hard to find them atmospheric when they look like stick insects.
For this yr, there are 3 games that have my attention...
Fall Out Vegas.....should be good and GOTY for me
Crysis 2.....has huge potential, but might end up being boring after an hr or so
F1 2020....needs to work properly with my steering wheel, otherwise it'll be a turd no matter how fancy looking the GFX and wet weather.

Pogma,you do know that vgs are still in the direct x 9c generation right? I just played killzone 2 and oddly I find it more fun when in 576p mode than in 1080p mode.
