F.E.A.R. 3 is set to release on the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, PlayStation 3 computer entertainment system, and Windows PC (...).
The game is developed by Day 1 Studios, developer of the original F.E.A.R. console games (...).
Players can look forward to new features such as (...) an evolved cover system (...)
The signs look pretty bad I'd say.
BTW I never understood this need for a cover system. If you want to take cover in a game, by all means do so, what do you need in addition to the will to take cover and an object behind which you can hide? In games like Thief you'd want a additional visibility indicator, but I do not think FEAR needs such a feature.

I've been thinking if at this point it would at all be possible to put a team of PC programmers together to make a series of fun PC games. It seems like 90% of the effort currently goes into graphics, and this ends up in incredibly boring games

I've never understood the craze with the whole 1-button-press-and-i'll-stick to it-cover mechanism.it makes games laughingly eazy(gears 1)

I don't understand a lot of trends these days:
-FPS games on consoles with shitty controls (Resistence, Bioshock 1&2)
-A desire by gamers and a willingness by designers to make good games worse (MGS 2 v 3/4)
-Consolitus (context sensitive buttons, cover mechanism, 'press start to continue', online multiplayer on everything...)

Regen health on ''realistic''games(cod4)
I don't understand the internet activation issue or the online mp components,if you're gonna distribute in countries where broadband penetration is low(x360 for instance, till today no support for xbox live here in SA,but using workarounds will get your co nsole banned!)why advertise the damn feat. ?

"This is FEAR 3 and basically what we're doing is re imagining the franchise and adding coop to it"
Mulitplayer sucks royally. It's just a way for developers to make more money with as little effort as possible.

A recent E3 trailer a guy was playing for about 10mins, never got killed once despite constant battles.
The environments seem bigger and better, but it's hard to associate this game with either FEAR or Extraction Point.
Both Fear and Extr Pt have some of the best GFX and phxs we've ever seen, and there's till no better close range combat shooter.
People might be surprised how good Fear looks maxed on a 24-27in LCD.

anecdotal.
and oh btw puke brain, Muslims are not a LCD device which you brag about in a forum. you cant play 27" screen using Muslim technology. so the comparison is weird and bizarre as you are. now thats actually funny...laugh on
