And why do you consider this good news? I had rather seen it had not been cracked, then they might have noticed it is this system, not piracy, that hurts their sales.

So you didn't think it over at all, did you? You just figured that the enemies of your enemies are your friends, well they aren't.

its not an issue that needs a lot of thinking, not sure why you would need to sit and ponder on the matter all day. and lol its not enemy of enemy stuff either.
ubisoft management are top notch bastards. Cracked or not its not going to change their attitude. they wanted to anal fuck you so that was one of the possibilities. and if you didnt get that, then you a poor reader of people. its better you quietly close clinic and move over to Aunt Bertha's pet shop.

I do not think that if there weren't any idiots like the guy who broke their DRM, Ubi would have resorted to these silly DRM measures. They probably wouldn't have implemented this only to thwart the second hand market, that's just a subsidiary benefit in their opinion (if it were their primary objective they would have implemented this on consoles too).
But agreed, obviously I am not such a good people reader as Dr Shrink (neither are you of course).

some random thoughts on AC2
Artists/mappers have done a great job. Playing Venice the other cities kinda look boring except Roma.
Those truth puzzles are kind of strange. The only one i got stuck was the Sumerian one, i had too look up the net for Sumerian numerals to solve it. The truth is still bizarre. Now that leaves me with finding one more codex page, though i think i skip getting another of those 50 feathers.
The level music is a disappointment compared to AC1. Its very dumbed down and boring. i am sure it has something to do with the management rather than a talented musician like jesper kyd. The sound fx are decent and professionally done.
While playing ac1/ac2 i realized the assassination is similar to hitman's gameplay. The way the map and legends are layed out are similar to the hitman's series if any1 has played them. Also as strange coincidence, jesper did the music for hitman too. did some of the hitman team move over to ubisoft? i dont see any hitman titles being developed.
i preferred the after death scenes in ac1 because it was longer as the dialogue was more interesting with the assassinated.
i am irritated with the long loading times when menu graphics and make it even more slower and the same cut-scenes are loaded again.
more later

...finished the game. here is the verdict
-excellent artwork
-ok music, it falls short, its missing something
-good sfx
-super dumb ai
-controls fucked up
-fov is fucked up
-story barely made it, actually is pretty dull
-puzzles where ok, but not coordinated
-ezio name sucks, wtf name is that? like a pizzio. altair was way cooler.
-gameplay ok, linear, prefer sandbox
-no repayable value
