Spent about 8 hours today trying to get Myst to work. Here's what It took
-downloaded Windows 98
-burned image
-tried to boot from CD
-realized installation was non trivial
-downloaded windows XP
-Windows XP wouldn't install
-downloaded different version of XP
-same problem
-downloaded 64 bit XP
-it installed
-installed Myst and Neverhood
-neither worked
-tweaked the environment settings
-Myst worked with no audio
-Nerverhood did not work
-turns out the audio drivers weren't installed
-tried to update, but no internet connection
-tried to set up wireless but it didn't work
-tried using laptop as hub...nope
-managed to get wireless working
-304 megabytes to go. yay...fuck you gates

there's a fix for neverhood to make it playable on win7, xp and vista too.
i'm sure that you can find it if you google it. there must be a fix for myst also.
