Or so says the article, however, I thought Rev Rant was on the money by and large+ we're at a stagnant phase of gaming that hopefully won't matter as much when the next gen consoles are released.
When I created my much loved review system, I did so in a bid to appeal to as many people as possible, but I didn't exclude what I thought of the gameplay and storyline, though it must be understood that I consider sound, GFX/physx to be a major part of a game, for example without the quality of gfx and physx, Crysis* would've been a much lesser game, but with all that, it ended up being a good run and gun.
*I include Warhead as well.

personally i think the score number should be scrapped in favor of using colorful adjectives. Eg a 0 score could be turd shit and a 10/10 could be gang-bang steaming orgy. please feel free to fill in the ones in between. obviously its not a one to one mapping of base 10 to words, just a few like 4-5 will suffice.
after all its a rating of an emotional experience which cant be translated to a numerical value unless you are a cylon

To me it's largely what Rev Rant said, as games are aimed at being "fun", professionalism and depth of story can be dispensed with.
The average 14yr old or average idiot is deeply satisfied by a competent cover system, and they're the type of idiots who think BIAHH is a good game.

so is pogma's.dont understand why ign would give a game 8 on gfx/sound/story but would still slap a huge 10 on the overall mark.also why judge a game based on it's replaybility if m0st games aren't designed that way? If it was a finacial decision i'd understand but for a game review it seems quite irrelevant.

Stupid me! Since Suislidian resembles English I confused Suislidian with English. Obviously in Suislidian it all makes perfect sense.
