I don't think I'm gonna finish this game twice, it is exceedingly difficult at certain choke points.

A quote from the Firingsquad review (the "consolitis"-section of the review, I like it that their reviews have such a section):

Quote:
The first-person view in this game will make you feel claustrophobic, with the diving helmet having very little to do with it. On top of the overly tight, consoley field of view, widescreen proportions are not actual widescreen at all, but cropped from fullscreen. This was a problem with the original Bioshock, as well, and is supposed to be fixed in an upcoming patch. In the meantime, it tends to make you move around much more slowly, constantly looking around to keep an eye on your surroundings. It’s easy to miss a scripted event because you were looking the wrong way, or to get surrounded by enemies that you didn’t know were there. This is such a major problem, going back to playing another FPS is like taking blinders off.

Looking directly at an object for more than a second brings up some text on the screen (“What is this?”) that prompts you bring up an appropriate encyclopedia entry by pressing the map key. I had no idea I even had an encyclopedia before I stumbled upon this, and even if I did, I don’t think it would be too much work to actually bring up the pause screen and look at it manually… It’s bad enough that it shows the name of every object, do we really need to add onto the break in immersion so that console players and/or idiots can save a couple button presses?

And they do not seem to like its multiplayer a lot: they call it crap, they start to get more and more things in common with this site.
