VideoGamesSuck.com :: View topic - Mass Effect 2 Digital Deluxe Edition
to the already overpriced $49 for the regular game, you have some wise ass marketting morons idea of "Mass Effect 2 Digital Deluxe Edition". So what exactly makes this Deluxe Edition another +10$ extra? well apparently it is these features
- Collector Armor and Assault Rifle
Two bonus in-game items: advanced regeneration armor and a powerful shield-shredding assault rifle.
- Incisor Rifle
Firing three shots with each pull of the trigger, the Incisor Rifle is designed to decimate shields before the enemy even realizes they have been hit.
and other stuff i have been eagerly waiting all my life to get my hands on, like
- Original Soundtrack
(because you can play this soundtrack on the afterparty on the way back home to show off to how cool you are )
- Digital Art Book
( gawk at the models and cum on their faces)
- Digital Mass Effect Redemption #1 Comic
( good stimulant for pooping, just when commander shepherd blasts all the alients, meshits blast all the way)
- Documentary Video
(wow so cool! amazing...so thats where the aliens pussy/butthole is)
- Cerberus Network
(yeah i need to increase my cerebral activity, please hook me on to this network so that my neurons overclock)
Looking at the first two features i felt disgust. Here is an example where, if you pay an extra +10$, you get modified game play compared to the gamer who purchased the regular version. The other features are pretty crap and so will not interest the hardcore pc gamer. So basically you are paying another 10 bucks for Collector Armor, Assault Rifle, Incisor Rifle. Which hints - "if you pay more you enjoy our game more"
This is not a good business practice where you shell out addition money to use special weapons ingame that favour improved gameplay. Its one thing to sell additional maps outside the main story/gameplay, but paying extra for gameplay is insanely unacceptable. i cant think of way greedy pigs will use this to milk more money. soon all you will get in the game is a rusty old knife and you would need to pay $5-$10 for each special weapon.

Wasn't such a thing in Oblivion before? I remember DLC which consisted of little more than some additional armour (puk, kindly provide the link this time).

a game that has any kind of regenerating hp in it sucks. also it's makeing the actual game items worth shit.
In the case of Oblivion, we got a
– map
– a septim coin
– makeing of.. dvd
– guide to oblivion
basically the stuff we got to a normal edition back in the days when games came in a normal BOX instead of a dvd case.. We've been given maps, cards, instruction manuals thick as a phone book..

Lol.yeah it is a shit practice but then again they'll blame it on piracy as if rampant piracy is on pc only!

yea, not to mention that it is a shitty excuse.. if games were boxed full of stuff as they were, more people would buy games. but this way they're actually support piracy. even if you buy it you only get a bare disc and nothing more.. hell, even the manual is on the disc..

am playing this game now. just reached omega. i am playing on veteran difficulty and the combat sucks, its not smooth + its not fun. the guns are not stable. hopefully it will get better. i like the cryo ammo, though.
pc spec: i7 920/6gb ram (7T)/gtx285 on vista32
the models are def more detailed. the chicks are hot! i am gonna bone that psy chick + Miranda hopefully. speaking of which in the near future who knows some device like fleshlight where you can hook it up via usb and have some jammin in the dark back alleys of omega, could well be possibility.

I ran into this article about the ME2 DLC. It seems to be not more than an artificial impediment to second hand sales. In stead of putting the content on the disc, you must download it, and you can do this only once apparently. This seems to apply to console versions too BTW.

you get to download 3 dlc for free
1. zaeed
2. normandy crash
3. one more whose name i forget
yesterday i spent a straight 9 hours 30mins into the game. its immersive allrght, but its not the same as ME1. In fact it is actually dumbed down. the inventory system is for kids and and you can level up like a simpleton. you cant really explore much either. eg go to presidium. not much element of surprise. so you know basically what to do.
there is something fucked up with the sound/audio. first of all the sound quality is shit compared to the first one. secondly the audio gain is low, meaning you need to increase the vol a lot to get it audible.
i liked the galaxy map of the earlier one. also you no longer have the vehicle sadly. to get minerals all you do is use the mouse and scan on the planet for minerals. how boring.....i agree exploring the planets in me1 wasint exciting either, but there was scope of improvement. atleast you could get into a vehicle and explore. well no more now.
still its fun in a different kind of way, but dumbed down. the conversations are pretty nice though and keeps up you interest. but you cannot deny its def missing something that me1 had. suislide is such a birdbrain.

My copy should arrive on Monday.
Could dumbed down equate to simplified and better?
There were quite a few things I didn't like about the first one, and both the inventory and leveling up were high on my list.

make sure to complete all your commitments prior to playing me2

dumbed down means simpler, easy to deal with. some ppl like dumb, i prefer smart. some aspects in 2 are better and some suck. But this is a great game.

compared to the first, both inventory+leveling is simple, almost console simple.

Personally, I don't like puzzles or difficulty for the sake of it, for ex, FO3's inventory and leveling up seemed pretty good.
They should focus on the storyline and develop the characters in RPG's anyway IMO.

So I've played for an hour or so.
Does this have a chance of being a 10/10...no way, a 9/10, doubt it.
I'd say we're looking at 7-8.....if it gets 8, I'd deem it as very good, but not as good as games like FO3.
I have no real problems with remapping or controls.

an hour is too short for a game like me2, try to play longer like 6-7 hours to get into it.
the controls are ok, except when i want to run it feels like my shoes are on gum.

I'm someone who's enraged by the console stagnation in games, for ex, I'm playing ME2 at 1080p everything maxed with 16xaf, yet we have enough GFX power in the market to make this game 3-4 times as demanding.
It is a decent looking game overall, but imagine what it could've been as a DX10/11 exclusive.
The game is also very linear and is still pissweak as a shooter....it's certainly better than the first, but ME1 sucked bigtime for combat.
Seems like all 3rd person view games run like retarded robots.

not all ppl are willing to spend money on a gaming rig

the gfx are nice even with dx9. there is not much in dx except for deformable geometry and tessellation. i mean you get those blob like effects.

the combat is bad. it gets better when you get biotic powers. but yeah the guns lack the punch. about linearity yes its mostly linear. but i am enjoying this game. its feels more and more movie like.
