It might make sense based on their premise, but HL2 is the only one on their list that I own.

10. Zelda Twilight Princess
9. Super Mario Galaxy
8. Devil May Cry
7. Shadow of the Colossus
6. Half-Life 2
5. Metroid Prime
4, Halo
3. Resident Evil 4
2. GTA 3
1. WOW
So you 2 never bothered to play Halo or GTA3? I tried them both: Halo seemed incredibly boring, bland and stupid, so I quit quickly. GTA3 seemed OK, but I had already played GTA VC and GTA SA so it seemed like a step back so I never bothered to continue after a few hours.
No old games in the list BTW, apparently because their target audience wouldn't know them?
BTW I also own Metroid Prime, tried it for a times because it is universally claimed to be great, but I just cannot get into using a controller for what is, basically, a shooter and I never played further than the first 10 minutes or so. Still have it here so I might try again one day.
Halo and Serious Sam appeal to fast twitch nutters with low attention spans.
I put something like 140hrs into FO3.
I don't know how to create a top 10 list, but to me some of the great games are....
Far Cry
HL2
FEAR
Crysis+Warhead
FO3
GTR Evo
I also think NFS Shift has a chance at making that list, but I need to put more time in.

Resident Evil 4 was a great game to play. Even if it was literally unplayable without a gamepad (I had to buy one just because of this game) and if it's not the same as the previous titles (less fright - more action). The zombies are pouring from everywhere and they use chainsaws and various guns now.. while Leon blows or roundhouse kicks their head off and you could see the parasites clinging from the torso trying to get into a new host. And the boss battles are awesome. There was a badass black bug-like humanoid that was so fast and powerful, even the final boss was a pussy compared to it.
I was a big RE fan and still I am, but now I know that Silent Hill is where the real nightmares are.. the 3rd one was awesome in every way (despite what the review says in this site). I'm trying to get the 2nd and 4th episode for PC. The sound and music in these games is insane.

I never played Halo, but have Halo 3 (came w/ my xbox). I don't like it much, there are cars in there, but not that fun. GTA 3 I tried, and I like driving around, but it's irritating how you can't tell who is shooting at you
-Far Cry 1, for making FPSs so HUGE
-MGS2 for it's fast paced arcade feel
can't think of any more right now

I loved Serious Sam but hated Halo, so I do not think you can compare the 2. Serious Sam plays like a charm, Halo like a chore. Halo takes itself serious, Serious Sam does exactly the opposite. Serious Sam looked good, Halo was incredibly bland. I remember having my new rig at that time and first playing Riddick, which looked incredible, and then Halo, it was an enormous step back graphically, yet the system requirements were comparable (IIRC - didn't bother to check), but also in terms of gameplay.

You think so? I thought it was tedious. But I admit I did finish it, so it must have had its merits (the intensity of the gunfights I guess), otherwise I would have quit early on.

No-one can deny that FEAR raised the stakes for both graphics and close combat/physics, but I also found it a bit monotonous when playing at medium IQ settings and on my old 19in CRT, but when I played it 6months ago on my 26in LCD maxed out, there was never a dull moment as I was constantly impressed with the GFX and physics......the game still has some of the most beautiful imagery in gaming.
That said, I think this is where games like Stalker, FO3 and ME1/2 are the new FPSer, so you've got shooting, usually a much better story and a developing storyline+ excellent RPG elements at times.
I think FEAR was one of the best FPSer's of all time, but you've got to be in it for the combat, just like Crysis is mainly about the combat...the GFX and environments certainly help of course.

Well I loved the story in FEAR 1, but that's personal.
However, I do agree with Pogma that it was one of the best FPSers of all time. Far Cry 1 was good, but the firefights usually ended with you dying. FEAR had great AI, a lot of health packs so you can fight really long battles, amazing weapons, and good music to boot.
Crysis was good, but system requirments were too high, and for some reason the level design wasn't as good as in Far Cry. However, the AI was great, and it's still fun to play. FEAR 2 had amazing fire fights, but the story was so so.

I was shocked too, I thought it was going to be no. 1 since GT is so in love with it.

I think Far Cry was nearly full open world, whereas Crysis was more linear and funneled you thru a restricted world to save on resources.
Either way, Far Cry2 and FO3 have proven how huge you can go for minimal resources, and had FC2 been better developed and had better gunplay, we could've had another masterpiece.

That makes sense. Although I still think the Assault level was one of the best levels in any FPS since Far Cry 1.

They should, if they haven't already done so, remake Far Cry 1 on the Cry Engine 2
