*sidetrack* I was playing Modern Warfare 2 and I a hate it more and more every time. In no particular order, here are the things that drive me up the wall
-Screen moving excessively every time I get shot.
-AI that can shoot me with a rifle from >300 m away (ruining the purpose of sniping)
-AI's cat like reflexes

Well rent it and finish it (in one evening), but there isn't much replay value. I wish there was a mod for this to tweak some of the values, it would make it infinitely more fun
Also, I don't play multiplayer, so I am not considering that.

WW2/modern day shooters are just as interesting as the history of fiddle-cases in my opinion. Just like every game that relates to the present times. NFS or Rally racers, every sport-game.. Why would I want to drive a car virtually too? What's next? Walking or eating simulator?
Modern Day videogames are boring. It guarantees uneventfulness, you can be sure that it holds exaclty ZERO surprise. You don't need to play it to know each and every scene of it. Not because you saw it in other games, you can see it on the streets, read it in the papers, see it on the news, you can't even run away from it. On the other hand, Sci-Fi or maybe Fantasy is the kind of genre that can hold some of my attention. Who the hell wants to shoot some afghan terrorists as an ordinary soldier, when you can wield a plasma rifle blasting off mutants or scorch some goblin hordes with massive fireballs..

NO1....FUCK THE MASTERBATOR....he's banned trash that's crawled back for another ass whooping.
NO2....I haven't anything about a new MoH.
The next game on my radar is Mass Effect 2, and then NFSshift to go with my Logitech DFP racing wheel.

Im not a great fan of MoH but i heard indeed it´s going to be on Afeghanistan, wich kinda sucks in my opinion.
Its like hunting rats with a shotgun.

(A good example of this is the new "Medal of Honor" title due later this year. Once a biennial title, EA kept it on the sidelines in 2009, giving its team more time to hone the game and move it from its traditional World War II setting to modern day Afghanistan. )
Can't wait for puk, pogma, suislide and D's review for this one.

It'll probably be a bargin bin title for me....or I might bypass it as I now much prefer shooter/RPG hybrids like Stalker, Mass Effect and FO3.

i beleive it all depends on the plot. If you can have an interesting plot/gameplay killing afghan terrorists as an agent can be pretty exciting too. Its the context in which you do it and how you got to that point to do the kill. however the industy is keeping it safe, because why bother with creativity when the cash is flowing?

Yeah but devs aren't really creating new and interesting plot devices. for rpg/shooters It's all about saving humanity and /or a human, arcade driving games:earning respect and cash, etc. I don't really care about plot and immersion these days, not even hl2 or lost planet immersed me,i only cared about blasting things and solving puzzles.
