VideoGamesSuck.com :: View topic - MW2 sucks on Consoles too
Played it through on Veteran, was literally dull as dogshit.
Same shitty post-CoD1 AI nuances that've been in all the games like magic faggot AI that can hit you with every bullet from their shitty spraygun from 500 metres away and retarded viewbobbing of your aim for ten minutes if you as much as get hit once (though naturally it doesn't apply to the enemies).
Also whenever you get into a level that actually looks kind of fun like a stealth level or a sniping one or a CQB one it lasts about three seconds until SHITTY PLOT SCRIPT strikes and suddenly you're once again drawn into a middle-distance shooting gallery pop'n'fresh fagfest which takes hours due to the way you need to wait for the enemies to stop hitting you the instant you get out of cover before you can even fucking see them let alone aim at them.

And really short apparently, if you finished it already. However, this seems to be contradicted by:

because if a single shootout "takes hours" and there are several ("once again") of them in the game, the game must be pretty lengthy (for a shooter).
Just nitpicking of course.

Yeah, it's short too - 8 hours for my Veteran playthrough, but realistically we're looking at 6 or so given how I died around 20 times per level and that there's roughly 20 levels overall.
I played it on regular, then took it down to recruit, I couldn't stand the "magic faggot AI that can hit you with every bullet from their shitty spraygun from 500 metres away and retarded viewbobbing of your aim for ten minutes if you as much as get hit once (though naturally it doesn't apply to the enemies)"
and the
"fagfest which takes hours due to the way you need to wait for the enemies to stop hitting you the instant you get out of cover before you can even fucking see them let alone aim at them."

Also I noticed you can never tell where the enemy is, so you have to use yourself as bait (ironic) to see where the bullets are coming from, duck until your gay health regenerates then go out and shoot the fucker

This is why I've lost interest in most traditional FPSers.
I much prefer the RPG/FPSer hybrids, and hopefully ME2 won't disappoint.
ME2 is the only game that stands a chance of knocking FO3 off it's perch IMO.
My own view on FPSer game duration is that 12hrs is okay, but the game has to be good, ie, FEAR, Far Cry etc.....and even with FO3, I think it'll take me over 40hrs to complete, yet I'd be happy if it only took 30ish.
I'm at L14.

This thought seems to be shared by almost all regulars here (except Suislide). I guess this means we are all getting really old now.

I'm 41, but don't feel old, either way, other than games like Crysis, most FPSers suck these days, I also don't like time limits and being ordered about, and this is one of the reasons I prefer GRAW over COD4.
COD4's GFX, character animations, cut scenes and gun models are all firstclass, but the gameplay is stale.

The game was too hectic. I couldn't see who was shooting me, and I couldn't hear any of my orders (and there is no option to increase voice volume as opposed to music volume) and soldiers kept flanking me which makes it harder to figure out who is shooting you, and the grenades roll, so the grenade indicator comes on, and you end up actually running towards the grenade instead of away from it.
That one level where you are in the gulag and stuck in that room is insanty, I just hid behind my riot shield b/c I couldn't tell where the enemy was coming from.

Always been a COD trademark, and one of the reasons I don't like them that much.

Same here, I finished (and liked) the first game but got bored by United Offensive really quickly and then skipped all later CoD releases.

I found they went overboard this time. I was very aware that they were trying to make you feel like you were in a war with all the chaos going around, but didn't much like it.

In your line of reasoning we could abandon this site altogether because for all games reviewed here there are many other reviews elsewhere.
Obviously I am looking for a VGS style review, not just any review.

I don't follow your train of thought.
I gave review of MW2 to Mihai to put on his site, I was almost certain he would link it here. But I'll post it here. gimme a minute

I asked for a review, Pogma referred me to Google (which I read as "there are plenty of reviews elsewhere"). However, in this thread I had already referred to another review elsewhere. Clearly my question was for a review *here* because reviews here are different from other reviews.

Just posted up my review it should be up in 2-3 days, pending Suislide's emotional state.

I meant wrt it earning approx $600million already.
I have COD4. but have no intention of buying MW2.
The next two games I'm likely to buy are ME2 on launch and OFP DR when it's bargain bin.
