Absolutely. There is a strong Jewish lobby in the US, that's for sure, but that's not unique to them. All these conspiracy theories are completely unlikely (IMHO of course).

It seems a bit more complicated to me, it is also cultural I guess. The more 'macho' a culture or the less developed the position of women is the more likely this sort of behaviour will be.

Rapists are everywhere, here the news was all over about a dead 12 year old who was found near the road, and was beaten, raped, and with a nylon bag on it's head. She was riding home on her bicycle when caught by a gang of four (at least they suspected 4 people). They say that most ppl knew who did it, and the police also found out, but they never announced it because they were afraid that it will boost racism and anger in people.. Just what kind of jurisdiction is that?

it's called libel, and the cops are afraid of it due to their limited budget. So they approach cautiously. But I don't think they are so afraid that they would cover up a gang rape.
More like if iranians rob a liquor store 40,000 times, the next time the cops are still not allowed to say "it's probably an iranian", even if that's what they are thinking.
