i liked alien vs predator games but only finished them with the aliens and the humans. predator sucks. also i hated how they made the alien so weak as an opponent. according to my oppinion an alien could tore up a predator any day. and here they die from a few bullets..
xenomorphs rule, they're not in for the thrill.. they are much more bigger, a hellofalot faster, stronger and can't be reasoned with. while predator is just an arrogant sluggish thug.

I liked both of them, AVP1 had a cool feel to it, and AVP2 had an interesting story (I think the movie should've just used that plot rather than a pyramid in the arctic...)
I never finished AVP1 on the marine cuz it scared the shit out of me
AVP2 was in my opinion easier.
I, however, did always find the alien to be disorienting trying to run along walls

Avp2 has no replay value imo even on hardcore. The alien campaign was fun for only 3 missions and that's when I got bored.oh ja and I did finish the marine en predator campaigns incl. the expansion pack.

i agree the movie should've just adopted the story of the second game.
i did not understand why it was not pitch black down there because it was under the surface was it not? and there were no lights..
also that the predator uniting with the humans was absurd.
in avp1 i played mostly with the alien and sometimes found myself forgetting just how i am on the wall, and if i let go what direction will gravity take me..
one of the best thing in avp1 was the multiplayer.. there where the aliens shine. many spots, celingsn and the whole maps were usually dark as shit and on some particular ones there were special routes for aliens only. and they were so fast and moved unseen. the other wondering species did not even see what hit them, mostly they just dropped saying "wtf?"

That movie had so many plot holes:
-One of the hieroglyphics read "back water planet"...what exactly is the glyph for back water planet?
-The predator star and spear is acid proof, but not the armor.
-How does the queen hatch eggs so quickly?
the review style is kinda like suislide's elder brother raised from uptown

Ya AVP1 was pretty bad ass when it came out. It was very gutsy.

AVP 2010 uses Steam BTW, so beware if you want to buy a used copy.
And no dedicated servers yet according to Firingsquad (for those who play multiplayer - not me). Always fun to read the "consolitis" part of their reviews:
Firingsquad wrote:
# Unnecessarily large user-interface - Things like subtitles, objective displays, and enemy health bars are oversized for the couch potato crowd.
# Obtrusive prompts for using or picking up items - They’re very annoying and succeeded in ruining many of my screenshots. Also the ginormous weapon selection display is clearly a remnant of using the D-pad on a controller rather than number keys.
# P2P matchmaking for multiplayer - This may be the best way to handle console games online, but the fact is, no developer that truly had the best interests of PC gamers in mind would even consider implementing this garbage.
# Melee prompts tell you what to press - Any time you are engaging an enemy within melee range, you will be explicitly informed of which button/key to press in order to counter what they’re doing at that moment.
# Auto-aim for melee attacks - They say it’s to place the emphasis on timing and strategy rather than evasion, but I’m not too sure.
