One thing I never figured out about Windows/linux, why is it, that when you have the Caps-Lock on, and then hold Shift, it negates the Caps-Lock? I never saw what purpose this served.
This is made doubly confusing since you still need to hold down shift to access the secondary characters of non alphabet characters
I have no life.

I guess the topic would only be funny to people who have tried to type something like "GLOBAL_vAR" b/c u caps lock it, then hold shift and it invalidates the caps lock for the 'v'. I just want to know what the functional significance of this is.

Caps lock is very useful if you want to type with one hand. Anyone here could imagine this situation I suppose (except the capn of course, he does not (know how to?) use the caps lock or shift key for that matter).
I fully support that campaign seeing as how Caps Lock is very rarely used. Furthermore, it's even more rare to type capital letters with one hand. I mean if I'm eating a sandwich, I might type "cool" with one hand, but even that's rare.

The windows keys (between the Alt and Ctrl keys) annoy me much more than the caps lock. They make the space bar much shorter, causing you to hit the Alt key by mistake which usually directs you to the menu of the window you happen to be working on at that moment.
Of course this is only a nuisance to those typing with 10 fingers.

I actually had to google 'keyboard' to figure out what you're talking about. I still don't know what those buttons are for.
Macs are pretty bad too, they have a <function>, <ctrl>,<alt>,and <command> button, so the <ctrl> button is where the start button would be, and in games like FEAR, you have to relearn how to use reflex time, or map it to another key
