Steer me in the right direction before I start researching this. If I get into an argument with someone about how computers are better than consoles, what exactly is the reason that console games suck?
I know the obvious consolization (auto aim, short missions, context sensitive buttons, "press any key to continue"...) but why are there so many low res textures? Is it b/c of small graphics memory?

you can't fault console manufacturers for having an old gpu,because Nvidia and ATI churn them out in such a fast pace.Then again counter that with the assumption that,they cant make an extremely powerful gpu,since it could cannibalise nvidia/ati sales on the pc front.

Yes, the low-res textures in console games are because of lower graphics memory. When it comes to ports, it really sucks when PC ports aren't properly optimized graphics-wise. Remember the Oblivion demo with the dynamic object shadows? Not sure why they just didn't leave it in as an option in the PC version for future hardware.
What happened to the good old days when PC games are made FOR PC and then ported to consoles to fit the hardware? Makes me think of the PC version of Max Payne 2 and how awful the Xbox and PS2 versions looked in comparison (even on low-medium PC settings).

wtf's up with that pistol? the tube is as thick as the whole magazine that turns after each shot? or maybe the gun fires 6 rounds instantly? (in that case, it's ok) also, what's that at shit the bottom end of it? it should be over the gun and mostly on automated weapons. here it's implemented wrong and also doesn't have any purpose. and as i saw it from some trailer you can use a scope for the pistol which is a normal binocular IN YOUR SEPARATE OTHER HAND! how can that improve your accuracy?! so much questions all bringing up the same one:
