EA extorts Battlefield 2 players

The recent release of battlefield 2: special forces further proves that electronic arts is a piece of shit company that does not deserve your business. In fact pirating games distributed by EA may be a good idea. Second only to mailing zip lock bags of human waste to their corporate headquarters.
Anyone who plays the game battlefield 2 knows that there a still many bugs surrounding the game and only a limited number of MP maps. Yet EA and DICE felt the need to release an expansion that can be purchased directly from them for $29.99 or from a viariety of retailers in the $20-30 price range. The catch is if you don't buy the software you still have to play online against players who are allowed to use new weapons from the expansion pack including things like flash bangs and a more varied array of weapons. Giving some players a major advantage over others.
This is a perfect example of a company not giving a shit about the people who pay their salaries. It sets a horrible example for the future of online gaming where companies can diminish your ability to compete in a game you already purchased.
There are examples of this situation in the past but they seem to have remained limited to MMORPGs where the player could simply stop paying a monthly fee if they chose not to participate. A different type of nerfing example would be the drastic changes being made to star wars galaxies to prepare for an influx of console gamers. This renders much of the work players put into building up high level Jedi characters useless. The difference here is BF2 was a one time purchase and has player run game servers. Players who purchased the game were not informed that they would soon be playing an online game against people with different abilities and weapons with no recourse except to give the company more money.
Sadly there are a large number of players out there who will continue to hand their money over to companies like this, allowing them to further abuse the gaming community.
Somewhat related is a supposed player "strike" planned by call of duty 2 players over their disapproval on lack of information in regards to the direction of online play. It probably wont do shit, but is worth noting.
So a big fuck you to EA and any moron who sees nothing wrong with this. I'd rather eat goat diarrhea from a rusty steel bowl than give you another cent.
