WW2: Normandy
Date: Saturday, October 08 @ 16:13:32 EDT Topic: FPS reviews
This is game based on the thrilling historical event known as D-Day, in which brave Allied soldiers were dropped onto the beaches of Normandy. This event helped turned the tide of of World War Two. It is remembered as one of the greatest military events of that decade, which was why Valu-Soft decided to take a shit all over it with this ridiculous game.
There was no description on the back of the case. Valu-Soft had cleverly opted to simply add the installation instructions there, possibly out of laziness or (more likely), out of sheer malice. The title said "Normandy", so I assumed that it was in some way referring to the D-Day invasion of Normandy. I think you'd agree. You fucker.
This "game" turns out to be a blot of shit masquerading as a FPS about Normandy. Really, it's just a generic FPS title about a generic soldier generically shooting at generic enemies and being generally generic. Although I shouldn't have expected better from a Valu-Soft game.
Let's go down the list of why this game sucks ass, shall we?
First of all, THE AI! It wouldn't be from Valu-Soft if the AI wasn't horribly inferior. The enemies in this game are programmed with the genius tactic of "running around aimlessly instead of shooting the guy gunning them down". This makes it all too easy to massacre the little Nazi-flavored blotches.
This segues into my next topic, The graphics. Valu-Soft opted to use the "random smears" style of graphics, which involve getting diarrhea and relieving themselves all over the floor. This is then photographed and uploaded into the game to be used as landscape and character polygons. When they run out of ways to achieve this effect, they simply made do with GIANT WHITE SPACES and DISTANCE FOG.
"Ok here is the part where the moron plagiarized the last two paragraphs from SA (as D pointed out). It was going so well... until you decided you were a lazy fucktard and thought that no one would notice if you stole content from one of the most popular humor sites on the internet." -M0nKeY
