It's a 2 yr old Acer, but it's not a TN, it's a proper 8 bit panel, granted they don't seem to make them anymore.
Not sure how any 26in can cost $100US though....
SIZE matters to image quality....I laugh at people who have hexy GPU but run 22in LCD, hahahahahahaha, Crysis at 12x800 on high would look better on mine than 16x10 on there's easy.
Another option for gaming is a 26in 1080p HDTV as these are typically 8 bit panels with better blacks than most PC LCD.
