I just read on usenet that this may be a developer option. Codemasters allegedly ties the serial of their DIRT games to a GFWL-account. If that is really the case this would basically give these games all the disadvantages of GFWL while taking away the only advantage it has over Steam.
Sony has announced a PC port of Dark Souls which is going to use GFWL and got this petition from people who are apparently not put off by the fact that this is a console port by a company with a bad track record in the first place.
It is clear that these game publishers have no contact with their end-users whatsoever; not only to they release crappy ports hated by everyone, they also wrap them in crap everyone hates even more.
You do not see such petitions for Steam BTW; while Steam has succeeded to be generally accepted over the last few years, GFWL has got generally hated in the same period of time, that's quite an accomplishment.

FFS...I was logged out of GFWL, and I'd changed my PW previously, but I wasn't able to delete my old PW and type in my new one into the log in box....way to go fucktards, what a great piece of 2012 spec software.....anyway, I simply uninstalled the game I was trying to play and make sure to be wary of this virus in any future games I consider.
